Our country deplored a second death linked to the Covid-19 coronavirus on February 26, 2020, according to France Bleu. This is the first French victim , after the Chinese tourist from Wuhan died on February 14. The new 60-year-old victim was a teacher in a college in Crépy-en-Valois (Oise), tested urgently the day before his death. An investigation has been launched since the man did not travel and therefore did not return from a risk area . It is a question of determining how it was contaminated and if it could infect other people around it.
In a few days, France discovered several new cases of Covid-19, for a total of 18 since the start of the epidemic. In detail, 12 patients have recovered from the disease, 4 are still hospitalized and 2 have died. We should also mention the fact that the government has set up a toll-free number (0800.130.000) – in order to answer questions from the population.
The concern in France is growing mainly in view of the situation in Italy. Several cities are placed in semi-confinement, cultural and sporting events are canceled and above all, a final report that is scary. Indeed, Italy has 447 confirmed cases for 14 deaths . As TV5 Monde indicates, other European countries hitherto spared have reported their first cases:Croatia, Austria, Greece, Switzerland and North Macedonia. They were mainly traveling Italian citizens.
A week ago, a first case was detected in Africa, more precisely in Egypt. However, Algeria has just confirmed its first case, again an Italian on a trip. Remember that the fear of seeing Covid-19 spread in Africa is real, given the few means available to deal with this eventuality.

While Covid-19 has been killing far fewer people in China lately, the discovery of three new sources of infection – Italy, Iran and South Korea – is far from reassuring . If the situation in Italy and Iran is very worrying, that of South Korea tends to get carried away. Indeed, the latest assessment reports 1,766 cases for 13 deaths (more than 500 new cases in 24 hours) . So in less than a week, South Korea, hitherto relatively spared, became the second most affected country after China in terms of the number of cases.
At the center of this massive contamination is the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, a sect with several hundred thousand followers. You should also know that the Chinese authorities are collaborating with South Korea as part of an investigation. According to the South China Morning Post , the province of Hubei where Wuhan is located has 200 members of this sect. In addition, China has a total of about 20,000 members and wants to find them in order to test them.
