Each passing day confirms how particularly difficult the management of the pandemic is in many countries. In France, the Academy of Medicine has expressed itself on the wearing of the mask. In the United States, the uninsured will be treated, but the country must restart according to Donald Trump.
On the evening of April 22, 2020, the results of the Covid-19 epidemic in France reported 157,135 cases and 21,373 deaths . As Ouest-France explains , the number of daily deaths remains very high. However, the pressure on hospitals continues to ease while remaining quite strong. If hospitals today keep 5,218 patients in intensive care, there were still about 2,000 more two weeks ago . It is therefore a slow decline and it seems that we are on the right track.
To continue to fight against the progression of the disease, the National Academy of Medicine has also made a statement to French citizens, advocating in particular the mask for all. It is everyone's responsibility to wear a mask when it comes to going out. Even though it's a handmade fabric mask, don't wait after May 11 to wear it. In addition, the academy recalls basic things such as the fact that the only way to fight is to prevent the transmission of the virus from person to person. It is also about not restricting the wearing of the mask to transport only in common.
In the United States, the record is still serious. On the evening of April 22, 2020, there were more than 840,000 confirmed cases for more than 46,500 deaths. By far, the United States is the country with the most deaths linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the Canadian daily La Presse , New York State – the epicenter of the epidemic – seems however to have passed the worst. In addition, more than 4.5 million people have been tested in the country .
Let us also mention ICI Radio Canada, having mentioned a plan that should reassure the most disadvantaged in the United States. Indeed, the Trump administration has indicated that it wants to fund the care of uninsured patients . True to form, the US president nevertheless declared that the country absolutely had to restart. However, the latter left the responsibility for the decision to the governors of the states. Thus, in the least affected states, the decision was made to relax the rules of social distancing.
In Europe, Italy, Spain, France and the United Kingdom together have more than 685,000 cases and around 85,000 deaths. Let us mention in passing an alarming situation in Turkey, with nearly 100,000 cases and 2,376 official deaths.
Other countries let fear the worst such as India (21,370 cases / 681 deaths), whose health and overcrowding problems are well known. We should also mention Brazil, whose toll is growing rapidly (46,182 / 2,924). Finally, if Africa remains the least affected continent, the fear of an explosion of cases is very present.
