The Chinese government has partnered with two major local companies to develop a new QR code system with different colors. Depending on the assigned code, citizens are likely to be asked to stay at home for a longer or shorter period. This is a way to fight against the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Inhabitants must first fill out an online form and enter their identification number. After the procedure, residents are assigned a QR code that can be scanned by a third party. This code now acts as a pass in different establishments, from administrative buildings to hospitals and supermarkets.
The QR code in question can be edited in three different colors:red, yellow and green. If the code is red, the person must remain confined to their home for fourteen days . In the case of a code yellow, this confinement period is seven days. Finally, a green QR code is synonymous with total freedom of movement.
