Coronavirus:cured people are not immune announces a Chinese expert

If there is not yet a vaccine against the new coronavirus, you should know that there are more recoveries than deaths! However, a Chinese expert said that those recovered from the disease should be very careful. Indeed, they could very well fall ill again.

The risk of getting sick again

The latest assessment of the Chinese coronavirus epidemic is 14,562 confirmed cases for 305 dead . In addition, a first death has been confirmed in another country, namely the Philippines. While we often talk about confirmed cases of infection as well as deaths, it should be noted that many patients recover from the disease . According to the epidemic tracking map developed by researchers at Johns-Hopkins University (USA), 340 patients are now off the hook.

On the other hand, these people must be very careful. According to the South China Morning Post, they must remain vigilant because the risk of falling ill is very real. Remember that there is still no vaccine against the coronavirus 2019-nCoV although research continues.

Vigilance is always required

The Hong Kong daily relayed the words of Zhan Qingyuan, head of infectious diseases at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing:

"Antibodies [developed by people who have been infected with the virus] apparently don't last very long [in the blood], patients in remission run therefore still the risk of contracting the disease. They must therefore continue to take protective measures. »

In other words, cured people are in no way immune against disease! The Chinese expert therefore reminded them not to forget the most important precaution to take:avoid gatherings . The person concerned particularly insisted on the dance sessions in parks and other public places. It is indeed a very popular activity in China to exercise. It is also an oxygen intensive activity. and the expert mentioned the fact that wearing a mask while dancing could cause breathing difficulties.
