Beau van Erven Dorens takes a Wim Hof ice bath and this happened

The first episode of a new season of Beau van Erven Dorens' talk show had an ice cold end. The presenter tried an ice bath using the method of the famous Iceman, Wim Hof.

Under the guidance of Wim Hof, Beau plunged into an ice-cold bath for no less than three and a half minutes. To prepare for the icy bath, he first had to do some breathing exercises and then he went outside where the bath was waiting for him.

When he lowered himself into the bath, it was just as hard for him, but with the encouragement of Wim Hof, the presenter manages to last even a little longer than three and a half minutes.

What does the Wim Hof method do

The Wim Hof method is world famous. According to Hof, who is also known as The Iceman, the combination of cold, breathing and focus can make your body stronger. In this way happy hormones are released even in extreme cold, which ensure a happy and cheerful feeling.

“The method is about mindset, breathing training and cold training,” says Bart Eigenhuis, health motivator and so-called cold trainer at Bridge2Cross in the November issue of Santé. “In terms of mindset, it's about having the concentration, confidence and conviction to work towards a goal and say:I'm going to do this.

Breathing training is about breathing in and out very forcefully, thirty or forty times, followed by a few minutes where you stop breathing, so that the relaxation can come.

Cold training can mean, for example, that you sit in an ice bath, but you can also stand under a cold shower or a few minutes in your bare skin in the garden.”
