Overheated? Cool down with these 10 tips

Phew, it's hot. You almost feel overheated! You can keep yourself a little cool with these tips.

1. Drink enough water

Place a pitcher of water in the refrigerator. Add some mint, cucumber, lemon or other fruit for a taste and an extra refreshing effect. If you have to take the road or train, take a bottle of water with you.

2. Do not use hot appliances

You may have noticed how hot your laptop can get. You would rather not have all that extra heat in your house with this weather. Turn off all devices you are not using and do not leave any lights on.

3. Put your feet in a foot bath

Running your wrists under cold water will cool you down. Cooling your feet is also a good way to lower your body temperature slightly. You can easily put a foot bath under the table, so make use of it.

4. Only open the windows when it is colder outside than inside

If it's really hot, it really only makes sense to open windows and doors early in the morning and late at night. As soon as the temperature outside is higher than inside, it is better to keep everything closed, especially if your house is well insulated.

5. Wear light clothes

Rather take light colors from the closet and don't wear tight, abrasive clothing.

6. Don't exert yourself too much

Sprint to the bus? Not today. Try to exert as little effort as possible. It is best to exercise in the morning or in the evening. Don't forget to apply sunscreen and take enough water with you.

7. Find the water

Take a bath in the garden, go to the pool or to the sea. With water nearby, you can cool down extra quickly. Provide a spot in the shade.

8. Put down a fan

Although a fan only moves the air, it does have a cooling effect at these temperatures.

9. Search public spaces

It has been proven that worker productivity drops as temperatures rise. Not everyone has the luxury of air conditioning, and air conditioning also costs a lot of energy. Do you still have work to do or just need to cool down? Find the coolness of an air-conditioned café or library.

10. Try to cool down before going to sleep
