Walking on the heath or along the beach
A hundred people between the ages of 21 and 82 participated in a study. Half of the group went for a walk inland, for example on the heath or in a park. The other half walked on the beach.
The effect of a walk
Both groups felt happier and calmer after the walk. But there was one notable difference:the nighttime sleep of the group who had taken a walk on the beach was 47 minutes longer than usual. In the other group it was only 12 minutes.
