With the tips from Atkins you can enjoy Christmas to the fullest, without gaining weight.
1. Start the day right
By eating a good breakfast, you have less need for snacks later in the day. For example, have breakfast with homemade bread with little carbohydrates or yogurt with red fruit.
2. The new toast
Replace regular toasts by cutting an Atkins cracker in half and topping with the classic combination of cream cheese and salmon, a slice of French cheese or egg salad. A slice of cucumber can also serve as 'toast'. Delicious with olive tapenade or tuna salad.
3. Small bites
Eat slowly and take smaller portions. You feel full sooner and later on you will have less appetite for snacks.
4. Enjoy wine and water
At a Christmas dinner you naturally drink the best wine, but avoid drinking too much alcohol. Alternate with a glass of water or mineral water with bubbles.
5. A snack beforehand
Are you going to eat with friends or family? Don't go out on an empty stomach. Eat a small salad, some nuts or a cracker with celery salad and fresh green herbs beforehand. The unhealthy temptations are then easier to resist.
6. Keep moving
Enjoyed a Christmas lunch or dinner? Go into the woods or a park for a winter walk, so your digestion stays well.
