Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health argue that a little physical activity – about 2.5 hours a week – reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by 14 percent decreases.
Cardiovascular disease
According to researcher Jacob Sattelmair, our health already benefits from 150 minutes of exercise at medium intensity. Sattelmair and his research team looked at more than 3,000 studies on physical activity and cardiovascular disease.
What turned out? In the older studies, participants were usually divided into groups of active versus sedentary lifestyles. However, new studies looked much more often at the effect of the total amount of physical activity on the risk of cardiovascular disease.
