Drink responsible. People who drink an alcoholic drink every now and then are happier than people who have completely banned alcohol. This is apparent from the Happiness Indicator study by Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The research shows that participants who drink two or more glasses of alcohol one to two days a week score an average of 8, while abstainers stuck at a 7.5.
On the other hand, drinking three days or more glasses is disastrous for the feeling of happiness † These drinkers feel visibly unhappier and arrive at a moderate 6.6. In the long run, it remains to be seen whether modest drinkers remain happy longer than abstainers.
