Although the Mexican flu still makes few victims in the Netherlands, it seems to be slowly making its way to colleagues or friends suddenly ill.
Two more people have died from the Mexican flu, bringing the number of deaths in the Netherlands to four. The 52-year-old man and 85-year-old woman were already in poor health.
The total number of patients admitted to hospital is now 90. In almost half of the cases, the patients also suffer from other serious ailments. This was announced by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
RIVM also noted a growth in the number of reported cases of swine flu. That number now stands at 5.5 out of 10,000. There were 4.5 last week. Nevertheless, the RIVM reports no significant increase.
