We stop for a moment with our train at a red traffic light! And here the color red has nothing to do with Valentine's Day… Because nobody participates in that, right?😊
When we are on the road it is very clear! Green, then orange and then red! Our body also gives us signals, only they are not the fixed rules as in traffic. Everyone must confess that your body has often been sending signals for a long time that you ignored… We must learn to respond to those signals.
When you listen to the signals, you can act on them. If you have to go to a baby shower or a colleague's birthday drink and you actually feel too tired… then it is unwise to think that you have to. Because then you don't listen to your body. Rest when you are tired. There's nothing wrong with taking an occasional nap during the day when your body needs it. If you are in pain, go to the doctor and ask for advice. Follow his or her advice too! It is of no use to them at work if you were to drop out for a long time because you ignored the signals.
You really don't always have to take a day off because there are things on the agenda or because your children can't go to daycare. Feel free to take a day for yourself every now and then. Maybe you choose to do a lot of overdue work in your household. If this brings you peace, then this is certainly ok. But you can also enjoy a day of doing nothing. Everything is allowed and possible as long as it can make you happy.
Close the door, nice and warm in the house and enjoy doing nothing. If you can't set the heating too high, look for alternatives such as a hot water bottle or a cherry pit pillow. A soft blanket, subdued light and a scented candle… Can you feel all the non-active thoughts?
Go to sleep on time † Not too early, but not too late either. Listen to your body when it tells you it is tired! Prepare your body by applying an evening ritual. You can't expect your body to be full and then suddenly have to go to sleep. Dim the high lights, put on your pajamas and brush your teeth. Then you are already giving the signals that you are going to sleep later.
Avoid working with your mobile phone, tablet or other blue screens in the evening. This disrupts your biorhythm. Rather take a light book with you to bed.

As a final tip, I would like to say that heavy meals, too much sugar, alcohol and caffeine are certainly not recommended. Rather opt for a bag (cup of) warm milk or tea before going to sleep.
