Making your own pizza:it's fun, tasty and healthy. At least, if you don't 'shoot' with the cheese 😉 . Making pizza yourself is a very nice idea, especially with children. And why buy ready-made pizzas when you can provide a much healthier alternative yourself in no time. Although, yourself? I let our children make their own pizza, and afterwards I don't get complained that it's not tasty!

Your mini-me's favorite food? We can say with at least 80% certainty that it is fries, pancakes or pizza! Or does your child's favorite meal have a slightly higher culinary quality? Maybe so, but in general we can be brief about it:Kids aren't too fond of being too healthy. Food that is green in color is – in children's eyes – by definition less tasty. Admittedly; broccoli and beans are eliminated by most children, but that's about it.
As a mother, you sometimes have to work a little smarter to get those sprouts into the healthy meal. However, sometimes it is easier than you think. We prefer fries and pizza. But the agreement is also that we eat something unhealthy once a week and the rest of the time we try to think about vegetables and vitamins.
Ok, I admit, that doesn't always work. But I have found an excellent compromise! Making your own pizza is a great idea! What can I say… an excellent idea! In this case, the pizza is not only healthy, but it is also tasty and fun to do.

Pizza, it just has vegetables on it. And that dough base looks suspiciously like a sandwich. It can't be that unhealthy, people tell themselves. And in itself there is something in it. As long as you provide fresh ingredients yourself. Frozen pizzas contain a lot of fat. But also salt and preservatives. How else could you keep them for a year? If you prefer a healthy alternative, it's better to make your own pizza. Because what could be better than a real pizza di mama? Indeed:pizza di mini-me, sounds quite Italian too 😉 .

If you are going to make pizza yourself, you can actually go in all directions. That starts at the bottom. You can go for baking dough, or make your own dough. If you really want a healthy pizza, go for whole wheat dough, or a spelled pizza. You can immediately make that bottom as thick (or thin) as you want!
Extra fun:make your own pizzas at the table. This is very easy with the pizzarette:a kind of gourmet set for real pizza fans. Together at the table you make mini pizzas, prepare while you eat † Very cozy for young and old, and tasty too (if you invest wisely, that is). In any case, you have all the freedom to make your pizza what you want!
Here at home, we're not really into thick dough bottoms, so we went for a thin and crispy alternative:the tortilla bottom. Have you ever tried that? Easy peasy!
For 4 persons:
Have the ingredients ready on the table. Or leave that to your cooking buddies. Spread the tortilla with tomato sauce and cream cheese.
Tip:First the tomato sauce over the tortilla, then the salami for example and then some cream cheese on top. Then the cream cheese spreads a lot easier than directly on the tomato puree 😉 .
Then it is a matter of investing. And make sure that the children put enough vitamins on their pizza. But I must say they do it well here. The best part is that they can invest themselves. Suddenly those vegetables are no longer a problem at all and it is even a fight for the bell pepper!
Place the pizza in the oven for about 13 minutes (preheated to 170°). And have fun! Your kids' favorite food, isn't that pizza di mama? Or will it be the pizza di mini-me? Don't throw arugula over it until the pizza is out of the oven .
