The importance of washing your hands regularly has been proven once again. Japanese researchers have discovered how long the coronavirus can live on the skin.
It turns out that this virus can survive on the skin for as long as 9 hours. That is five times as long as the 'regular' flu virus. It only lasts 1.8 hours on the skin.

This is shown by Japanese research published in the scientific journal Clinical Infectious Diseases Journal. For the study, the skin of people who had died shortly before was examined.
The researchers advise that hand hygiene is of great importance to reduce the spread of the corona virus. For example, this virus can be switched off within 15 seconds by using ethanol contained in hand gels.
