Many people who stutter have no less of it when they sing. A rap app has been launched to help children and give them more confidence.
Kids can rap in the Get The Flow app. If you get into the flow of a rap talking becomes easier. Children can also play against each other in the app.
The app is an initiative of the Dutch Federation Stutteren, Vodafone and singer Sanne Hans. The app is not based on scientific research, but it is known that speech sounds come out smoother during rapping and singing. There are no indications that this causes children to stutter less while speaking.
Singer Sanne Hans thinks it is especially important that the app makes stuttering therapy more fun. In addition, the app ensures that children know that they are not alone with their stuttering and hopefully they will build self-confidence in this way.
