What is the difference between glycemic index and glycemic load? The glycemic index is a value that indicates how quickly a food raises your blood sugar level. The glycemic load is similar, but takes into account the size of a serving. The glycemic index is a value between 0 and 100, with 100 being the highest. For the glycemic load, on the other hand, the values ​​are different:

Low glycemic load
<10 (slowly raise blood sugar levels)

Medium glyemic load
10 – 20 (gradual rise in blood sugar)

High glycemic load
>20 (rapid rise in blood sugar)
