On Saturday, Minister Edith Schippers of Public Health made a striking statement in the Kassa program.
Until September, organizations and citizens can come up with ideas to reduce healthcare costs. On Saturday Edith Schippers was in the television program Kassa to respond to views of viewers about the cutbacks.
Profit back to healthcare
One of the proposals is that the profits of insurers go back to health care. The minister responded with:'I would rather they not put the profit in health care, but that the premium goes down.' Schippers believes that if health insurers make so much profit, it should be reflected in the premium.
Remarkable
The spokesperson for CZ thinks it is a remarkable statement. Last year the premium was already reduced by a few million euros. If you have 3.5 million customers, a reduction in premium is a multimillion-dollar investment.
How do you think healthcare costs should be cut?
