Stretching heals our muscles and brings grace to our movements, relaxation and well-being at stake.
If you stretch your back a lot, you often forget to relax the front of your body.
Find out how to relax the front of your body from head to toe with the prayer stretch.
1. The knees on the ground , the buttocks on the heels . The legs are against each other.
2. Look straight ahead.
3. Reach your hands behind your back and touch the fingertips of the left hand to those of the right hand.
4. If your flexibility allows it, bring your two hands together so that the palms are facing each other, always behind your back.
5. Hold the position while breathing gently.
Make sure your trunk opens slightly . This opening facilitates the passage of the hands behind the back.
The hold of the posture is largely determined by the position of your gaze. So be sure to look straight ahead. Your chin should not be lowered or raised.
At the end of the exercise, gently release your hands so as not to rush your shoulders. Do not get up too quickly to give the blood time to circulate normally again in your thighs.
If the position is comfortable for you, hold it as long as you want on one set.
If it gives you pain in the front of your ankles, thighs (quadriceps), or shoulders, gently release the pose before it becomes unbearable. Take a short break then repeat the exercise a second, then a third time.
If getting your hands behind your back is difficult, put them back to your back above your buttocks with the fingertips of each hand touching. Gradually, if you are able, raise them towards the shoulder blades.
The prayer stretch opens the entire belly chain :front of the ankles, quadriceps, pectorals and shoulders. Your upper back straightens. As he runs on the ground, it's a real moment of relaxation. You can even do it in front of your television set for a better return on time!
