Target the point just between your two eyebrows.
Massage it gently but with small pressure for one minute. It is an acupressure point to unclog the nose naturally.
This massage acts on the nasal mucosa:
- it prevents dryness and inflammation of the sinuses;
- it has a preventive effect;
- it reduces the pressure in the frontal sinuses.
With the index and middle fingers, make circular movements in the area of the wings of the nose for 1 or 2 minutes. Add small pressure movements on the wings of the nose.
This massage opens the nasal passages. Thus, it is much easier to blow your nose and to evacuate what obstructs the nostrils.
Place your finger in the hollow on the upper lip, putting it just between the nose and the mouth. Massage this point with gentle movements for 2 to 3 minutes. This massage eliminates and soothes inflammation and swelling in the nose.
When the air humidity is below 40%, the mucus in the nose dries up, hardens and interferes with free breathing. The worst part is that bacteria will grow more easily under these conditions. The optimum humidity level is between 40 and 60%. Do not hesitate to use a humidifier to maintain an optimal humidity level in a room of the house.
Take a small towel and heat it in the microwave or put it in very hot water and wring it out. Then put the towel over your nose. It shouldn't be boiling hot, just a warm, pleasant temperature. Once on your nose, the heat will make the mucus more liquid and therefore easier to evacuate. After warming your sinuses, gently blow your nose or do a saline enema as explained here. The nose will clear immediately.
If it's an allergy, hay fever or rhinitis that clogs your nose, physical activity will help you clear it quickly. Indeed, when the heart rate is high and the body warms up, it has a positive effect on the thinning of mucus in the nose. This makes it much easier to blow your nose and clear your nose.
15 minutes of physical activity is enough to see a result.
