People who feel happy in their relationship exercise less

Look, I finally understand why sports is less in my blood. I am lucky in love. So it's really just a good sign. If you exercise less, it is because you feel comfortable in your relationship. Apparently that has always been the case with me, because I am not much of an athlete by nature. I do, sometimes. But it's not from my heart so to speak. So now I know how this happened. It has nothing to do with laziness or being too busy. It's because of my happiness in love <3 .

Happiness in love means fewer athletes

This week Edwin Evers was on the radio that people who DO NOT exercise feel happier in love. Research has shown. The explanation turns out to be very simple (you don't really need any research for it):If you feel lucky in love, you feel respected by your partner. As a result, the urge to exercise diminishes, as your partner "loves you anyway".

The other way around, of course, also applies. If you are less lucky in love and things are not going so well, then you look for sports more to feel happy. We all know that when you exercise, your brain produces chemicals (including endorphins) that make you feel happier. And you want to look better. For your partner, or for others, that is of course also possible.

People who are therefore unlucky in love are more likely to seek refuge in sports. Or chocolate, that's also possible 😉 .

Athletes in their midlife crisis

Men who are in their midlife crisis also show this. They often start exercising fanatically again. This can even take extreme forms since the midlife crisis also adds an extra dime. The happiness in love seems to have faded. The this-it-now feeling is rearing its head and the oddities are getting worse. Plenty of sports to look better, going out a lot, emotional infidelity and further debauchery.

So it becomes worrisome if one of the two is a fanatic sports and the other is not. Is it a one-sided happiness in the relationship? This is possible, but does not have to be fortunate. So don't take it like sweet cake (not good at all if you exercise less, all that cake), because the many sports can also arise from a kind of addiction to sports. There are people who really enjoy sports. Not me. Apparently I miss that fabric…
