A good resistance reduces the risk of flu and colds. And if you do get sick, you'll be better sooner. With these tips you arm yourself as effectively as possible against winter bacteria and viruses.
1. Open your windows
The mercury is dropping below zero, and all you feel like is firing up the stove and closing all the windows. But a poorly ventilated house is a source of bacteria. Make sure you air regularly in winter too. For example, always leave your ventilation grilles open in the bedroom. Additional advantage of ventilation:your heating costs are actually reduced, because the air becomes drier due to the supply of outside air.
2. Take care of your portion of selenium Selenium is a trace element that also acts as an antioxidant in your body. It protects red blood cells and cells from damage. The nutrition center recommends 300 micrograms per day. You do this by eating enough fish, nuts and tomatoes.
3. Go outside
Yes, even if it rains or snows. You usually catch a cold indoors, in closed rooms. So make sure you have enough fresh air and remember that a rain shower during your run is no problem at all. Rain won't make you sick.

6. Book a massage
A good massage of at least half an hour improves blood circulation, lowers your stress levels and can help prevent infections.
7. Have sex more often
Having sex more often is a good idea, especially if you feel the flu coming on. Snuggle up under the sheets with your friend, or with yourself. Sex hormones that are released do wonders for your skin, your cortisol level and your overall resistance
