How do you fight jet lag? We have collected our tips for you.
1. Pick up the rhythm of your new time zone immediately
Try to pick up the daily rhythm of that time zone immediately after arriving (or returning). Do you arrive in the morning? Then don't take an afternoon nap and try to go to sleep after ten o'clock. This way you will get into the rhythm faster and your jet lag will be over sooner.
2. Drink lots of water
Drink water to prevent headaches, fatigue and dehydration.
3. Use a light therapy lamp
Research by NASA shows that your body can recover from jet lag within two days. Are you flying east? Then turn on the lamp in the morning, local time. When flying west, turn on the lamp in the evening. Sit down for between fifteen and thirty minutes.
4. Going to bed an hour earlier or later at home can make a difference Before you travel, go to bed an hour earlier or later (depending on your destination). Every little bit helps.
5. Try not to think about the time difference
Look at the time in the time zone where you are and remember that it is already midnight in the Netherlands.
6. Take care of yourself
Make sure you are rested, drink enough and don't skip meals.
