Ordering groceries online has become increasingly popular in recent years. The University of Ghent has discovered that online shopping ensures that we make more healthy choices.
If you go to a physical supermarket, the chance that you will succumb to chips or chocolate is greater. In the digital shopping cart, 5.6 percent of the products are unhealthy in the physical supermarket, that is 11.1 percent.
Easier to resist
One reason for this could be that pictures of tasty things are easier to resist than the products you see on the shelves. Furthermore, you can immediately eat your impulse purchases from the supermarket, while you have to wait a day for the delivery of your online order.
