In the Netherlands we score poorly when it comes to taking a lunch break. One in five Dutch people eat at his or her desk and we also allow ourselves the shortest break of the studied countries within Europe.
On average, we take a break of 26 minutes, which is two minutes shorter than in 2012 and the lowest score of all European countries. Champion taking lunch break are Portugal and Italy with 56 minutes and 52 minutes. Time to work ourselves to that leading position;-)
The explanation would be that we see lunch as a necessary evil. Eat two sandwiches and move on.
