The Checkmark. You've probably seen it on packaging, but do you actually know what it means?
The Consumers' Association has been campaigning for some time to abolish the check mark. According to them, the Checkmark mainly creates confusion. Rightly so if you look at the numbers:80 percent of people don't know exactly what the check marks mean. 85 percent do not know the difference between the green and the blue Checkmark.
What's the difference anyway?
The green checkmark stands for a healthier choice and the blue checkmark for a more conscious choice. The blue Checkmark gives little information about how healthy a product really is. It stands for the best choice within the product group. These are not necessarily healthy products, they can also be on a snack.
It makes no sense to remember it now
Edith Schippers, Minister of Health, has decided that the Vinkje will end. Instead, there should be an app that provides information about the nutritional value and composition of products.
What do you think?
