They are occasional or recurring.
Whether they occur during a sports session or at night, cramps are companions that we would gladly do without.
But to know how to get rid of them, you must first understand their origin.
A cramp is an involuntary contraction of muscle, which does not stop.
Our muscles are made up of fibers whose shortening causes the muscle to contract. They contract under the action of an ion:calcium.
Normally, calcium leaves the muscle fibers when we decide to stop the movement. This output is made possible by two ions:sodium and magnesium . Sodium and magnesium therefore stop muscle contraction.
Only, in some cases, the sodium is lacking. This happens especially when we sweat a lot, because perspiration releases mineral salts, especially sodium. Result:your muscles no longer relax and the cramp sets in. Magnesium deficiency will produce the same effect.
The solution to avoid cramps is therefore to consume enough sodium and magnesium.
1. Sodium: it is found in table salt. A sodium deficiency will therefore be corrected by drinking one liter of water in which you have diluted half a teaspoon of salt .
2. Magnesium :it is found in several foods, including chocolate. But prefer bananas or certain mineral waters, in which you will find as many!
