It is healthy to go outside every day. Preferably between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., when the sun shows itself. But it is smart to wear a scarf outside and not just because of the cold.
Why?
A scarf keeps your airways (throat, nose and lungs) warm. The airways contain blood vessels that narrow in the cold. As a result, the supply of lymphocytes (a special type of immune cells) to the airways is reduced and viruses have more opportunity to multiply.
