Why are fibers so important for your body?
1. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
• Make a fruit salad
A fruit salad is easy to make and delicious for dessert. Mix in a few nuts for even more fiber.
• Eat an orange
Orange juice is tasty, but by eating the whole orange, you get more fiber.
• Eat apples and pears with skin
You may like fruit peeled best, but the skin contains a lot of fiber, which is almost half of the total amount of fiber. A large part of the dietary fiber in potatoes is also contained in the skin.
2. Eat whole grains, brown rice, oatmeal, beans and lentils
• Overnight oats
Don't feel like preparing oatmeal in the morning? Make overnight oats the night before.
3. Add nuts and seeds to your diet
An easy way to add fiber to your diet. Think of chia seed, linseed, almonds or walnuts.
