The medical sector has been in the news a few times recently. That reporting definitely influences doctors.
No one will have missed the fuss around Jansen Steur. Mednet has conducted research among 400 specialists and general practitioners.
Image
85 percent of the doctors surveyed think that the image of the profession has been damaged as a result. 45 percent feel personally affected in their professional honour.
Procedure
A quarter of doctors are more cautious with patients. They inform patients even more about possible risks, request more tests and have patients sign up for the agreed policy.
Remarks also in free time
Leisure time
More than half of the medics also receive comments in their spare time. For example, one of the respondents says that he is regularly asked how many preventable deaths he has on his conscience. Another doctor was asked if he also has "friends who don't really do anything about it".
