Attention tea drinkers:researchers have found that drinking black tea can lower blood pressure by about two to three points.
There are different types of tea that are good for your health. White tea for example, promotes digestion and supports the immune system , while green tea is good for your cholesterol. Researchers from the University of Western Australia are now also seeing the positive influence of black tea demonstrated. Drinking three cups of tea a day causes a blood pressure drop from two to three points.
Experiment
For six months, half of the test subjects, a group of 95 men and women, were given three cups of black tea per day. The other half were given a placebo drink with the same taste and the same amount of caffeine.

After the experiment, the group of tea drinkers had a clear lower blood pressure than the test subjects from the other group. “These small differences in blood pressure already lead to a 10 percent reduction in the prevalence of high blood pressure and heart disease and stroke ,' said researcher Jonathan Hodgson.
