This is possible thanks to an extremely effective exercise:the "scissor lunges".

In addition to making you lean and muscular, it will improve your endurance in impressive proportions.

Starting position

Stand with your legs straight and your hands on your hips. Move your left foot forward 40 cm and move your right foot back the same amount. Only the tip of the right foot rests on the ground.

Movement execution

1. Gently bend both legs so that your right knee touches the ground.

2. Push on the legs to perform a mini jump. During the jump, reverse the positions of the legs by a scissor (the right leg goes in front and the left leg behind).

3. Lower your left knee to the floor this time.

4. Go back up again by performing a small scissor jump.

Warning:your bust must remain perfectly vertical and must not lean forward or to the side. If the position is painful for the knee, go lower.

Don't land with your legs straight to avoid damaging your knees:bend them.

Rhythm and repetitions

The descent must be slow enough to control that the knee does not hit the ground. The thrust is toned enough to allow the mini jump.

Repeat the movement five times on each side to start, linking the movements in a fluid way, without pause.

Complete five rounds with a minute or two of rest. If neither the buttocks nor the thighs begin to burn from the third set, increase the number of repetitions.

Benefits

This exercise primarily works the gluteus maximus, and to a lesser extent the quadriceps (front of the thigh).

By striving to keep your chest vertical throughout the movement, you will also work the rectus (the “chocolate bars”) and the obliques (side of the abdominals).

This exercise makes you consume calories, and is also excellent for endurance, it allows a significant consumption of fat.

Finally, it develops balance.
