The arrival of a new baby in the family is a very emotional moment.
Birth photo specialist Laura Paulescu lives in Portland, USA.
She captured the moment this mom gives her daughter one last hug before giving birth to her baby.
She then shared this photo on her Facebook page.
"A moment of pure sweetness" wrote Laura Paulescu.
"The last hug before saying goodbye to her mum. And the last time she sits on this round belly, inside which is still her little sister".
I don't know about you, but this photo really makes me want to cry!
The characteristic of great photographers is this:knowing how to capture an emotion and not just an image.
This mom knew how much things would change for her and her family.
She wanted to prolong this moment, even a little longer, because she had already experienced this once.
Hold your little one tightly against you, before he is no longer the youngest.
"That last hug was so special! I feel so honored to have been able to immortalize this precious moment for them, so that they can treasure it forever," explains Laura.
I remember when I said goodbye to my 2 year old son as we left for the hospital to give birth to my daughter.
It's a moment etched in my memory forever.
I was quite nervous then. There was a part of me that didn't think I could love another baby as much as I loved my first child.
And there was another little part of me that felt like I was betraying him by bringing another person into our life.
It was 2 years ago. The two of us were a team. Every day, we spent almost all of our days together.
It was a little painful to think that we were going to break this dynamic. And at the same time, I couldn't wait to meet my new baby.
When you have children, you realize how ephemeral each stage of life is.
And this hug before the birth of a new child marks the end of a stage.
You then say goodbye to a period of your life that you will never experience again.
