Whether we have children or not, we all know the Pampers brand .
And for good reason:it is the leading brand on the market.
What is less known is what their layers contain.
According to tests carried out by laboratories, it contains components derived from petroleum.
Petroleum derivatives potentially dangerous for baby's health!
But Pampers is not the only brand in question.
Indeed, a survey by the newspaper 60 Millions de Consommateurs reveals the presence of toxic or even carcinogenic products in almost all the diapers tested . Explanations:
Laboratory tests have shown the presence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Pampers diapers and most other brands of diapers.
Behind this extended name, hide benzanthracene and chrysene, 2 products derived from petroleum.
But that's not all.
Glyphosate, volatile organic compounds (VOC), dioxins... all these chemical components were also found in the 12 models of disposable diapers tested by the magazine 60 Millions de Consommateurs.
All are categorized as "probable carcinogens" or "proven carcinogens".
Unfortunately, no law requires manufacturers to indicate the composition of the diapers on the packages...
So, should we be concerned about the presence of these products in diapers?
There is no doubt, for Ludivine Ferrer, director of Asef.
Not only is the risk to babies significant, but it is insidious.
For her, these toxic products are at the origin of "the increase in chronic diseases such as cancer or infertility".
The danger is, according to her, very real for the health of children.
And it is all the more absurd to use these products because they are not essential for the manufacture of diapers.
The proof, there are alternatives without risk to health.
Fortunately, child-friendly diapers do exist.
Thus, no harmful chemical substances have been detected in the diapers of the Love &Green brands and the Mots d'enfants diapers from Leclerc.
It is therefore possible to make diapers without introducing these chemical substances!
There is also the solution of washable nappies which has the advantage of being safe for babies and also respecting the environment.
