Armenian Paper is known to scent and disinfect our homes.
What is perhaps less well known is that it is effective in relieving asthma and thus replacing some of the prescribed drugs that are no longer reimbursed.
It was in the XIXth century that the French discover this magic paper, coming from Armenia. The Armenians used it to perfume their interior.
It is a paper scented with benzoin resin which comes from the styrax (a tree from Laos). Its composition is close to that of incense, while being softer. Armenia paper is ecological, 100% natural and does not use any propellant gas:it therefore does not damage the ozone layer .
Since antiquity, benzoin has been known to possess antiseptic properties. and purifying . It was therefore enough for our great-grandmothers to start using it to overcome cough and asthma .
Armenia paper is generally presented in booklets of 36 sheets detachable. In order to detach a leaf, you must fold it like an accordion, before placing it on a saucer and lighting it.
Then blow slowly on it, in order to extinguish the flame and let it burn slowly, giving off a good smell in the house (benzoin mixed with vanilla...very nice!)
Our grandmothers also placed it, without burning it of course, in their cupboards, in the middle of the laundry or in their old books.
You can find it in drugstores, tobacconists or even on the Internet.
For asthmatics, since this is the subject that interests us, the effects are double :
1. Do without certain medications:
It can replace on its own an important or too prolonged use of drugs such as Bronchodermine or Vicks (decongestant ointments) or Carbocisteine or Exomuc (fluidifiers).
Removing or reducing the use of these drugs helps to avoid adverse effects , such as rapid heartbeat, redness and itching or stomach aches.
2. Save money:
These drugs are not reimbursed by Social Security. Armenia paper costs around €4.50 the notebook, for the same duration as a one-month treatment of Bronchodermine or Vicks + Carbocisteine or Exomuc. An ointment + a thinner will cost you €8.80 .
If you can do without these drugs completely, you will save about €4.30 per month.
The Armenian paper will also allow smokers and people with chronic cough to breathe better .
Of course, I encourage you to ask your general practitioner what he thinks of this solution. Only he knows the importance of your asthma and can authorize you or not to look into this alternative solution.
