Kids between 4 and 6 love to cut and paste:as As a teacher, I offered them lots of visual arts activities to satisfy these two passions.
I'll detail 3 of them here that will delight and cleverly occupy the little ones.
You don't need very complicated things to amuse kindergarten children and at the same time teach them precise gestures:
Create objects flat or in volume will fascinate them and they will be proud to have produced a unique painting.
> a pair of scissors (think left-handed scissors if your child is)
> glue in a pot with a brush
> old magazines
> white A4 sheets
The child chooses a beautiful magazine page, a face or a landscape.
He cuts it into strips about 1 cm wide, following freehand parallel lines, either vertical, horizontal or oblique.
He sticks them on the white sheet, in the order he cut them out, but leaving a space of 3 or 4 mm between each strip.
The result ? A landscape or a deformed face, higher or wider, giving a nice optical illusion that amazes the child and the parents!
Loulou starts by cutting out a face that she likes, not too big (about 3 or 4 cm) from a magazine.
He glues this face to the top of the white sheet.
He now draws a body with a neck attached to this head :it's up to him to show his imagination, to draw him pretty clothes, a bag, etc...
Here is a portrait in two separate pieces for a strange and amazing character :to start again as many times as you want for a gallery of all different portraits.
At the bottom of the white sheet, draw a trunk:just an elongated rectangle may be enough for the little ones.
Choose colorful magazine pages and tear them into small pieces .
Crush then these pieces in balls , more or less tight.
Glue the balls thus formed to make the tree foliage above the trunk, depending on the shape you want, matching the colors in autumn tones or in greens...
The small balls can also be made in crepe paper colored, easier to crumple for little hands!
You now have in front of you a beautiful tree in relief , to hang on the living room wall or on the fridge in the kitchen...
Have you tested these activities, did your children like them? Quick, a little comment.
