Being a mom means life is busier than ever with school, feeding and playing with the kids, so it's understandable that health and fitness can take a backseat. By leaving the gym and traditional workouts and incorporating exercise into daily routines, moms can stay fit without even leaving the house.
Training doesn't have to be complicated to give the best results. High-tech machines don't always equate to a better workout. Simple exercises such as squats, wall push-ups and step-ups can be developed into a very effective and efficient exercise program. These exercises can all be done at home, saving you money and time!
One of the most enticing prospects of a home workout program is that you can do it whenever and wherever you want. However, it is much more effective to schedule it into your day. If you have plans to train, you are more likely to do it.
Increasing your physical activity doesn't necessarily mean exercising more, you don't have to exercise traditionally to stay fit. There are great ways to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine, including:pushing a stroller as you walk through the park, running up stairs, pushing a toddler on a swing, or even “riding” your child.
For a quick workout to get your heart pumping, we recommend the following:
squats
Bench push-ups/wall push-ups
Step ups
Side Plank Rotations
lunges
Rest
Complete 30 seconds for each exercise. After completing the 5 exercises, you will rest for 30 seconds. Repeat the circuit as many times as you like.
