Suffering from snot shame *raises hand*

Do you also recognize the burden of snotter shame? Since we went from about -15° to + 20° here in Brabant two weeks ago, there is no stopping it. The hay fever season started in full gear and I suffered from sniffling shame from one day to the next!

Sniff on with your snotter-shame

Now it turns out I'm not the only one, because the word snotter shame has been a newly invented word since the Corona broke out. And the funny thing about it (I think) is that it is not only nice to hear but also really true. Now say yourself 'Snotter shame' is a beautiful word, isn't it? I can wholeheartedly agree with the fact that the feeling of shame is really there.

Coincidentally, two weeks ago – in that wonderful spring weekend in the winter – my brother spontaneously decided to drop by on his racing bike. To look at our renovation progress. He came in completely unexpectedly and I think that's very nice. But before I could greet him in the normal way, my lips rolled over… 'I'm sorry, I'm sniffling, but it's not Corona. I have hay fever again."

Isn't it normal that you can be so ashamed of the fact that you keep turning your nose up? That is really something of the last year for me while I have been suffering from hay fever for years. And even though I take my meds right from the moment I feel it coming on, it doesn't work so well that I get rid of my sniffling shame. I still sneeze and sneeze, although fortunately it is less.

Ways-to-reduce-your-hayfever-complaints

Treating hay fever complaints is of course the first requirement in your fight against sniffling shame. This can be done in various ways, but it is impossible to say in advance which method will work best for you. I've been trying for years. I am currently on Loratadine. That just doesn't work enough, and I also prefer not to take medication if I can solve it in another way. That's why I'm looking for alternatives. Do you suffer from hay fever symptoms, check the tips below.

Honey from a local beekeeper

Another remedy for the sniffling shame could be honey from a local beekeeper. Or at least honey produced by the bees in your area. A spoonful of honey a day should be able to drastically reduce your hay fever. I hadn't tried it before but now I'm looking for local honey. To be continued so to speak.

Rinse your nose

What can also help against the pollen is rinsing your nose. The pollen remains in your nose, so they continue to irritate you. If you want to cleanse your nose of the pollen and pollen to reduce your hay fever symptoms, you can do that with the Rhino Horn. An ideal nasal rinse. In the video below you can see how easy it is to rinse.

The saline solution with which you rinse soothes the nasal mucosa, making it easier to breathe again.

Essential oils against hay fever and-snub-shame

In addition to the above methods to curb your hay fever and get rid of your sniffling shame, you can also try essential oils. Eucalyptus oil is antiseptic and effective against bacteria. It also has an expectorant effect and thus against respiratory ailments including hay fever. Tea tree oil or Manuka essential oil are also very effective against allergies. By the way, you also have Manuka honey. A bit expensive, but seems to be super healthy.
