The majority of Dutch people now suffer from dry hands due to frequent hand washing or the use of disinfecting gels. Yet we do not do much about it and that is actually not very wise.
No less than 65 percent of the Dutch have dry skin due to frequent hand washing. Yet as many as 1 in 3 do not care for their skin, despite the fact that 30 percent have cracks.
This is apparent from research among more than 1,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 80 conducted by Motivaction on behalf of the Skin Fund.

On average, we now wash our hands four times more than before the corona crisis. For almost half of the Dutch population it leads to skin problems to a small extent, for 18 percent to a large extent and for 5 percent it leads to skin problems to a very large extent.
Problems mentioned are dry skin, rubbing, cracking of the skin and rash.
Because it appears that three out of ten Dutch people now do nothing about the complaints, the Skin Fund wants to warn against developing worse complaints to the skin. To prevent this, it is important to:
