Can your stomach stretch if you eat a lot? And more importantly:can your stomach shrink again? We looked it up for you.

There is scientific evidence that indicates that if you overeat structurally, your stomach is less likely to return to its old form. The reverse also applies:if you eat too little for a long period of time, your stomach can become less elastic and adapt less easily. However, the effect is not very large. Overweight people generally do not have bigger stomachs than slim people.
Use too little food never as a method of losing weight. The size of your stomach is not the most important determining factor for how much weight you lose and whether you succeed. Hormones and psychological factors have a much greater influence on this.
