If you want to keep a wasp at a distance, it makes no sense to beat around you or run away. That's how you approach it.
Wasps are useful animals, but that doesn't automatically mean we want them near us.
1. Keep calm
Try to remain calm. When you panic, the wasp becomes more aggressive.
2. Be careful with perfume
It's not just you who love a floral perfume. Wasps may also appreciate your perfume. Leave your perfume on if you go outside a lot and use an odorless deodorant.
3. Scare wasps off with odors they don't like
There are several odors that can deter wasps. Worth trying. The following home-garden-and-kitchen remedies would keep wasps away:
4. Provide distraction
Are you sitting at the garden table with friends? Place a piece of fruit in a different place in the garden and try to lure wasps to another place in this way.
5. Catching wasps safely The best way to catch the wasp you have in your sights is to put a glass over it. Wasps in danger or panic send signals to other wasps, who are therefore attracted to it. By placing a glass over a wasp, you prevent it from communicating with its congeners.
6. Hang a fake wasp nest in the garden in the spring
Wasps like their own place. Is there already a 'wasp's nest' in your garden? Then other wasps will not quickly choose your garden as their place. Most wasp nests are ready in July and August and you are most bothered by wasps.
