Women feel pain in a different way than men, according to a study by the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen.
Women are more sensitive to pain than men. The researchers have a tip for women who suffer from pain:watch painful images or play sports. Watching a painful movie, for example in which an athlete breaks a leg, makes you less sensitive to pain. This effect is especially true for women.
Chronic pain
The research should contribute to better treatments for people with chronic pain. It is clear that men and women also need to be approached in a different way when it comes to pain.
