A twist of fate:Imagine you get stuck in a supermarket. How long could you survive?
Research shows that the average British supermarket has enough food and drink to survive 55 years. For the sake of convenience, we assume that the average Dutch supermarket is not inferior to this and that the researchers have not taken the best-before dates into account.
The same survey found that only 36 percent of people have an 'emergency supply' at home. People who have emergency supplies at home put food, medicines or a mobile phone in it.
