Do you hate that your parents and your partners parents give the children too much candy? Rightly so, it turns out. According to recent research, grandparents play a role in their grandchild's obesity.
Children who are often cared for by grandparents are 22 percent more likely to be overweight, due to the extra treats they receive during a visit.
They don't get it
Don't immediately rage at grandpa and grandma. The research also shows that they are not very aware of it. They have the natural instinct to give their grandchild plenty of food to increase the chance of survival. In addition, the elderly are less aware of the nutritional value of products, so that they do not realize that they are giving too much. It can therefore be wise to point out to your parents/in-laws that they give your children too much candy.
