Many people have not yet indicated whether they want to become a donor or not. This is often due to laziness. The number of donors has hardly increased for years. Would a different donor system yield more donors?
Three calls
Medical specialists and patient associations argue for a different system. Anyone who has not yet communicated their choice should receive a call to pass on their choice. If you have not communicated your choice after three calls, you are automatically a donor.
No increase
One of the reasons that this proposal has now been made is that the number of available donors has hardly increased in recent years. A system in which you actively have to pass on your choice can change that. It doesn't matter if you don't want to become a donor, as long as you pass on your choice. This prevents your next of kin from being confronted with this difficult question after your death.
Do you want to become a donor? State your choice.
What do you think the donor system should look like?
