Various umbrella organizations for general practitioners and pharmacists have submitted a confidential proposal to be able to follow up the Electronic Patient File (EPD). This is reported by ANP.
Earlier this year the EPD was definitively rejected by the Senate , because personal data of patients not sufficiently secured would be. The file had to be electronic exchange of medical information through a central system.

The confidential proposal to Nictiz, the organization in charge of establishing the EPD, concerns the acquisition of this technical system † According to the organization, it is purely about preserving the technical infrastructure of the EDP, and not about breathing new life into the EPD.
Other organizations involved are the Vereniging Huisartsenposten Nederland (VHN), the Dutch Association of General Practitioners (NHG), the pharmacist organization KNMP and the Dutch Association of Hospital Pharmacists (NVZA).
