Breakthrough in science! A team from Wageningen University has succeeded in isolating an antibody that is effective against the most dangerous flu viruses, such as bird flu.
This finding makes a universal flu vaccine , against dangerous flu viruses such as bird flu or swine flu , one step closer. Mute flu viruses namely very fast, which means that the vaccines often have to be adjusted in order to remain effective.

Risk groups
Influenza is especially lurking for people with a weaker resistance such as the elderly and children. The new antibody found however, immediately disables flu viruses.
