First aid for a winter dip:the first light therapy café in the Netherlands is open today in Amsterdam.
A lunch venue in Amsterdam gives visitors 15 minutes of light therapy for free during their cup of coffee †
Light therapy treats complaints caused by a shortage of daylight , such as fatigue, listlessness and concentration problems.
The effect has been scientifically proven. People with severe winter depression can even go to hospital for treatment. Light therapy in the hospitality industry cannot replace these treatments. In Norway and Sweden, light therapy is already very common in coffee shops and cafes to make up for the shortage of daylight in the dark winter months.
If the light therapy cafe, the Bagels &Beans in the Van Hallstraat in Amsterdam , proves successful, the initiative will be extended to all other Bagels &Beans.
