Feeling stressed right now?
Forget sedatives, we give you some easy and free tips to lower blood pressure.
Heat, exams, taxes, aggressive boss, drop in purchasing power, baby screaming all day long...
The reasons for stress are numerous and are amplified with money problems.
It is surely for this reason that the French have long been the European champions in the consumption of painkillers.
1. Exercise
We can never repeat it enough:exercising is not only beneficial for the body, it is also for the mind. How? 'Or' What ? For several reasons:
- it strengthens a couple by losing the pounds you inevitably gain when you let yourself go together and it allows you to practice an activity together:jogging, cycling, rollerblading, swimming, etc...
- it saves us money by breaking our spending habits:jogging in the morning rather than going to buy a croissant at the bakery, cycling in a park rather than shopping every Saturday afternoon. It's also a great way to exorcise your discomfort other than by compulsive spending.
- stress also comes from physical pain such as back pain, for example. By accustoming your body to the effort, you also protect it against certain mild pain but annoying, such as cramps, body aches, joint problems...
I swim twice a week and cycle every day:I can tell you that I don't know about stress, even though I live in Buenos Aires, the suffocating city par excellence.
2. Rest Your Eyes
The eyes are not eternal machines:by dint of staying in front of the computer and the television, they become exhausted and dry, which is likely to cause very strong migraines, which are themselves responsible for stress.
To prevent these harmful consequences, it is recommended to keep your eyes away from the screen every 20 minutes to stare at an object about 30 meters away for 20 seconds.
I have another very good piece of advice:reconcile point 1 and point 2 of this article by leaving your computer 1 for an hour every day to go play sports or go for a walk.
3. Sleep better
The spiral of stress and sleep ends up forming a vicious circle:the less we sleep, the more we are stressed and the more we are stressed, the less we sleep .
This is why it is easy to recognize severe insomniacs:they often have bitten nails.
It's time to break this infernal spiral by sleeping soundly and for at least eight hours a night.
How? 'Or' What ? Here again, exercise is the solution since it will help you relax on the one hand, and will exhaust you just enough for a big sleep, on the other hand.
We also advise you to drink a glass of hot milk before going to sleep, while our dear editor Judith recommends a good herbal tea. There is no risk in trying.
Last piece of advice:never fight against sleep saying "no, I still have work to do" or "no, it's only 11 p.m.". When sleep arrives, it's time to go to bed. If we miss this opportunity, we may never find it overnight.
4. Open to Others
Psychoanalysis is based on this:openness to others allows the catharsis of one's emotions.
Clearly, by sharing your sorrows or worries with another, you get rid of half of their weight.
But rather than going to pay thousands and cents to these shrink sharks, the best thing is to talk to your loved ones, even if the shame overwhelms you at first.
Because afterwards the process will be simpler:the more you talk, the less you are ashamed, so you talk more, and the stress goes away little by little.
5. Eat better
Healthy and organic food has the advantage of nourishing your body well. Thus, by feeling better physically, you will feel more able to play sports, and therefore to evacuate stress.
On the other hand, cooking instead of eating junk food is a great way to share a moment with loved ones , so to take your time, so to relax.
Well, I hope these few tips will help you loosen up a bit. I've added a few personal tips, but that's because they really help me on a daily basis.
