October is coming. In a few weeks, we will be turning the heating back on.
Casually, this action has an impact on the health of all family members.
So be careful to calculate the heat and humidity levels needed in each room of the house.
It is important not to be cold. Nothing worse than that. But too much heat is bad for breathing and tires the body.
Especially since this is an artificial heat. My goal, when I turn on the heating, is not to be able to be comfortable in panties and a T-shirt in the apartment. A little wool doesn't bother me in my movements.
I prefer to leave a temperature of 20° permanently in all my rooms during the day. I leave the doors open so that the air circulates and the temperature is even.
In the bathroom:when bathing an infant or child, I can turn up the heating to a maximum of 23°. I then think of bringing it back to 20° and ventilating.
At night:the ideal temperature for sleeping is between 17° and 19°, with a duvet or blanket. In the evening I therefore think of lowering the heating. And if someone is sick, I don't think he should be warmer. The fever will not go down and the little noses will remain congested.
The recommended humidity level in the medical environment is 40 to 60%. Indeed, too low humidity can lead to respiratory complications. I don't know about you, but I feel it when I wake up:the nose is dry and still seems stuffy.
Conversely, too high a humidity level combined with too high a temperature will give an impression of discomfort, fatigue, migraines...
By maintaining ideal and constant temperatures, I have already done most of the work. Then I bought a weather station (I like to know the trends for the coming days), which at the same time gives me the humidity level in the apartment.
If the humidity level is too low:I humidify the rooms. I hang up the laundry instead of putting it in the dryer and I put cups of water near the radiators (I remember to change the water every day and, in case of a cold, I add drops of oil Eucalyptus (Amazon link). If that's not enough, there are humidifiers (Amazon link).
If the humidity level is too high:have I sufficiently ventilated my apartment? I do it more often, in order to renew the surrounding air. Otherwise, I invest in a dehumidifier.
I hope these tips have been useful to you... Do you have any others? Feel free to write your comments.
