Tiger Balm is a completely natural remedy that is making a comeback these last years.
For the simple and good reason, it is effective for almost everything.
In Europe, it is called "tiger balm" while in China it is rather "soothing balm".

The original Tiger Balm was developed in Burma in the 1870s, by herbalist Aw Chu Kin.
Contrary to popular belief, Tiger Balm contains no tiger-related ingredients.
It contains menthol, mint oil, clove oil, cajeput oil and camphor.
Aside from the original Tiger Balm, there are various brands that can be found all over China.

1. Relieves insect bites s. Tiger Balm relieves and soothes itching. Apply it directly to the bite.
2. Repels mosquitoes. Tiger balm is the mosquito repellent par excellence, because these insects do not like its strong scent. Leave a box of Tiger Balm open in every corner of the room during the summer. Mosquitoes won't enter a room that smells of Tiger Balm.
3. Protects wooden furniture. Wooden or bamboo furniture can be infested with termites or other wood-eating insects. No need to buy a commercial toxic product to get rid of it. Instead, put a small amount of Tiger Balm in each termite hole. You can say goodbye to them!
4. Relieves all types of pain. Tiger Balm can be used as an analgesic by applying it to the painful area of the body. For example:lower back, legs, or directly on sore muscles and bones. Apply it as many times as needed until you feel better.
